AI Clichés Make Your Writing Less Good

I don't care if AI helped you make it. I care if it's good. But clichés the AI clearly fire-hosed in there make it worse—so I keep a cliché file.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: I don't care if AI helped you make it. I care if it's good.

BUT! When your writing is littered with clichés that AI clearly put there, it makes your writing less good. Just like if you wrote it yourself but it was full of cringe (is cringe cringe now?)

The speed of cliché generation is increasing at close to the pace of code generation.

I actually like writing with my stupid brain and clumsy fingers but I'm starting to keep a cliché file for my AI editor so that it can catch where what I naturally write is too close to what people are using GPT or Claude to fire hose all over the internet.

Make good stuff, friends! The world needs more of it.
