Agent-First Should Be the Default

OpenAI making Codex the default will move a lot of people's cheese—but agent-first is the right default now. Get over the initial hump and an agent that can do things for you is too powerful to pass up.

Props to OpenAI for a bold move - a lot of people are about to get their artificially intelligent cheese moved by making Codex the default and I'm guessing most won't like it. I wish them luck.

But Codex / Cowork / etc should be the default mode for how to interact with these systems now. If you can get over the initial hump it's too powerful not to start with an agent that can do things for you, not just give you something to copy paste.

The good news is the best way to learn is just to speak plainly to it like you would a colleague and ask it to explain. Give it a shot!
