Scaling impact with AI comes from codifying senior judgment into skills and agent workflows—which also unlocks a powerful way to train the people still climbing the ladder.
The key to scaling impact with AI in any function is codifying senior team members' judgment and expertise.
I keep hearing stories about over-eager early-career employees using AI and producing garbage. They haven't built up the reps to be able to reliably tell what's good, and agents are taking on the tasks we used to give them to build that muscle.
But the irony is that senior folks are still swamped—once you build up the right agent workflows, it turns out it unlocks their ability to create more value than ever. And eats every bit of their available time.
It's really hard to hire and onboard the right people of any skill level. But hiring only senior folks is even harder.
The good news is that properly configured AI can be a really great trainer when engaging the people still climbing the career ladder.
I believe investing in building the right skills and agent workflows can scale the best team members, AND it can be instrumental in building the key team members of the future and helping them make an impact inside guardrails today.
