Exploring tools like n8n for building AI workflows that non-technical people can maintain - and the challenges that come with it
I'm interested in what people are using to automate customized AI workflows and "agents" that people who are not super technical can tweak, maintain, and evolve.
I have gotten pretty handy with n8n for things that don't need their own full blown software product, especially since I can have claude code build workflows for me via the n8n mcp and I don't need to fiddle with setup, connections, and nodes quite as much.
Pointing and clicking at nodes is super frustrating for someone like me who would prefer to just write code (or direct one of my robot friends to do it).
But, It's nice that I can quickly create workflows that in theory a non technical user can follow and edit.
In practice, very quickly these automations turn into something you need to be a developer or at least very familiar with the ins and outs of how software works to understand, safely edit, and especially to maintain over time.
There are a whole mess of products out there targeted at this and new ones every day - anyone have one or an approach they love that's working sustainably?
